Santa Maria della Fava Church

A legend in the heart of Venice .

Situated in the heart of a secret Venice, between Rialto bridge and S.Mark square, this marvellouse eighteenth century building, has an extraordinary artistic treasures, for example,the famous “Education of the Vergin” from G.B.Tiepolo, in addition to masterpieces from Piazzetta, Amigoni, and an ancient image that gave the name to the church. about this, a Venetian legend tells that while the artist was painting the picture, his beloved fiancée, that he thought she was death, appeared to him, so that the image was considered miraculouse. it is possible to see even more the two recesses where there were the sculptures of the two lovers.

Another story says that the famouse Botticelli painted his renowned Venus after seeing a beautiful lady coming out of the church, where you can find an ancient marble shell, like in his painting!There are some sculpture of Torretto and Morlaiter , renowned artists of the eighteenth century.

SCUOLA GRANDE DEI CARMINI-Campo S.Margherita -Venezia

Concerts will take place at the wonderful Scuola Grande dei Carmini, a museum dedicated to G.B.Tiepolo, and also the last of the eight Scuole Grandi being in Venice at the time of the republic falling.Situated in Campo S. Margherita, just near to Cà Rezzonico on the Grand Canal and form Piazzale Roma, was founded on 1598 as a laical confraternity. The aim of the Scuola was to help the brothers with economical and religious support, to help the  poors and the sick, to prepare the dowry for the poor girl and so on.The internal halls of the Scuola  kept the whole original ancient furnishing, consisting in important frescoes, oil paintings, pargetings and wooden carved reredos.In the main hall Giambattista Tiepolo painted between 1739 and 1749 the famous nine canvas about the spiritual virtues some extraordinary artistic treasures are furthermore in the other rooms, marvellouse masterpieces by Piazzetta (“Giuditta e Oloferne”) and Padovanino (“L’Assunzione della Vergine”).
